Jmenuji se Klárka a narodila jsem se 18.6.2006.

Vypadala jsem jako zdravé miminko, kterému nic nechybí. Těsně před druhými narozeninami mi diagnostikovali Spinální muskulární atrofii (SMA) snad druhého stupně.

Moje nemoc je bohužel progresivní, momentálně se nám daří jí brzdit a neslábnu. Do budoucnosti se moji rodiče radši moc nedívají. Není veselá. Velkým nebezpečím vedle slábnutí svalů končetin je hlavně oslabení svalů polykacích a dýchacích.

My name is Klárka and I was born on June 18 th 2006.

I seemed to be a perfectly healthy baby with no problems. Shortly before my second birthday I was diagnosed with – hopefully – second degree of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).

Unfortunatelly, my illness is progressive. At the present time we managed to slow down the progress and I don´t get any weaker. My parents try not to look into the future as there is nothing to look forward to. Beside the decrease in the mass of the muscles there is a big danger of weakenin of swallowing muscles and muscles that control breathing.
